Three | Video; Action for Violet City
[Ever since the weather backed off and became an ordinary winter, and Raven made it to Violet City, she’s divided her time between working at the Pokémart – stocking shelves, unloading deliveries, pretty much anything that doesn’t involve working face-to-face with a lot of people – and curled up in a bed in either the Pokémon Center or the inn, because she feels awful. It doesn’t matter though; she has to work to pay for that egg, among other things, and as of yesterday Cecil should have his P1500 payment. Melody objects to the way she’s pushing herself but has been unable to change her trainer’s mind.
The past couple of afternoons, she’s felt sort of up to doing something other than passing out after work and the two of them visited the edge of town together to train. By and large, Raven is growing accustomed to how to live life in Johto and feeling…better about the fighting-monsters deal as long as her partner is also okay with it.
This morning she does not go to work, because there is a commotion happening in her room that demands her full attention. She’s seen that people usually record this. So, she does. Sitting there at the edge of the bed are the remnants of eggshells and two surprised new faces.]

They hatched.
[Shinx immediately bats at Feebas playfully, and the fish widens its eyes and flops right off the edge of the bed. Raven’s pretty sure fish need water, so that one goes back into the ball; the tiny lion growls and bares his teeth in a grin before trying to wrestle with Raven’s hair.]
Mmh, stop that. [She picks him up and puts him in her lap instead, with Melody hopping to the foot of the bed to sweep away eggshells.] Do baby monsters eat different things?
---
[Later on, after an eventful day trying to adjust to three companions instead of one, Raven is too worn and sick-feeling to train at all. Melody nestles into her hair for warmth as they walk, and both of them turn toward a harsh birdcall before they are nearly knocked over by a dive-bombing black feathered shape. Too stunned to think it through, Raven stands there staring at the dark shape in the dusk sky wheeling around for another pass. It’s Melody who hops into action instead, taking flight in the area in front of Raven. She starts to sing as the Murkrow comes around again into a dive.
By the time it reaches the ground, it’s dropping like a stone, sound asleep and unable to attack, and though it wakes after a few Pecks, it doesn’t pick up and fly again or really resist when Melody Sings it back to sleep. It takes some encouragement to get Raven to fumble out a pokéball and toss it.
The catch sticks. If there are any spectators around, they are bound to be less surprised than Raven herself is. She heads to the Center at a faster pace than usual; once everyone is all squared away, she gets out the gear again, ignoring the voice nagging her about doing this twice in one day. As she talks, she keeps pausing to cough a bit.]
Now there are four of them. That’s a lot of monsters to give attention to. [What if they decide they don’t like her?]
[[ooc: It's a two-parter! I feel just as wonderfully wordy as the rest of Route now!]]

Oh. A year consists of twelve months. Three months make a season. That's a long winter.]
I'll think about it.
