Three | Video; Action for Violet City
[Ever since the weather backed off and became an ordinary winter, and Raven made it to Violet City, she’s divided her time between working at the Pokémart – stocking shelves, unloading deliveries, pretty much anything that doesn’t involve working face-to-face with a lot of people – and curled up in a bed in either the Pokémon Center or the inn, because she feels awful. It doesn’t matter though; she has to work to pay for that egg, among other things, and as of yesterday Cecil should have his P1500 payment. Melody objects to the way she’s pushing herself but has been unable to change her trainer’s mind.
The past couple of afternoons, she’s felt sort of up to doing something other than passing out after work and the two of them visited the edge of town together to train. By and large, Raven is growing accustomed to how to live life in Johto and feeling…better about the fighting-monsters deal as long as her partner is also okay with it.
This morning she does not go to work, because there is a commotion happening in her room that demands her full attention. She’s seen that people usually record this. So, she does. Sitting there at the edge of the bed are the remnants of eggshells and two surprised new faces.]

They hatched.
[Shinx immediately bats at Feebas playfully, and the fish widens its eyes and flops right off the edge of the bed. Raven’s pretty sure fish need water, so that one goes back into the ball; the tiny lion growls and bares his teeth in a grin before trying to wrestle with Raven’s hair.]
Mmh, stop that. [She picks him up and puts him in her lap instead, with Melody hopping to the foot of the bed to sweep away eggshells.] Do baby monsters eat different things?
---
[Later on, after an eventful day trying to adjust to three companions instead of one, Raven is too worn and sick-feeling to train at all. Melody nestles into her hair for warmth as they walk, and both of them turn toward a harsh birdcall before they are nearly knocked over by a dive-bombing black feathered shape. Too stunned to think it through, Raven stands there staring at the dark shape in the dusk sky wheeling around for another pass. It’s Melody who hops into action instead, taking flight in the area in front of Raven. She starts to sing as the Murkrow comes around again into a dive.
By the time it reaches the ground, it’s dropping like a stone, sound asleep and unable to attack, and though it wakes after a few Pecks, it doesn’t pick up and fly again or really resist when Melody Sings it back to sleep. It takes some encouragement to get Raven to fumble out a pokéball and toss it.
The catch sticks. If there are any spectators around, they are bound to be less surprised than Raven herself is. She heads to the Center at a faster pace than usual; once everyone is all squared away, she gets out the gear again, ignoring the voice nagging her about doing this twice in one day. As she talks, she keeps pausing to cough a bit.]
Now there are four of them. That’s a lot of monsters to give attention to. [What if they decide they don’t like her?]
[[ooc: It's a two-parter! I feel just as wonderfully wordy as the rest of Route now!]]

Action
Especially if one's a dinosaur.
*Remember that super annoying energetic girl you talked to waaaaaay back when? Yeah, that's her. She's all bundled up with layers of multi-color clothes and her leggings have a rainbow of colors on them. It also looks like she did her hair with the hat on, because the holes on the hat are smaller than the twin buns on her head. She's trailed by an Absol and a Squirtle*
*She also seems unaware, or undaunted, by whatever opinion you have of her.*
Still not used to how cray-cray this Magical Pokemon World is?
... ah, that rhymed.
I should pay more attention to that. What do yours like?
Action
[Oh, she remembers.]
Action
Which is super nice, so I get to see my Pokemon Friends that don't travel as well as the others. And shuffle around which egg I'm hatching.
*And she's still just as chipper as ever.*

Action
...Well, Mystery might but I have a hard time reading him on my best days.
*Brenn the Squirtle walks on over to investigate the redhead, but he doesn't mean any harm.*
Why are you overthinking all of this?
Action
[Meaning, this is not overthinking. It's just thinking. A human like her will not understand.]
And she really misses being settled somewhere, making things. She used to do all the cooking, too.
Come to that, even monsters around Sharance liked certain foods. Micah told her about it - not that she didn't know - and how it was easier to make friends with some than others.]
I'll ask them.
Action
*She starts petting the fur on Omen's back as she does her speech, quickly chiding Brenn when he tries to wander off.*
I know what my Pokemon are like... except Mystery who tells me nothing, but he's not keen on travel or battle. I do my best to spend time with everyone, but not all of them like the travel like I do. And that's okay.
Action
Never mind.
While asking is certainly an option, you can always set out a few different types of food and see which they go for... It might be a bit more expensive, but it's more or less a guarantee you'll figure out what they like.
Action
*Imogen doesn't understand a lot of things. Just part of being human.*
Well, good luck! Brenn let's go.
*The Squirtle waddled on back to Imogen's side as Omen kept a watchful eye on the redhead. He was seriously all business, that Absol.*
[video]
[She would name such a monster Colette.]
Blue ones. If the fish liked blue ones, then that was what she would find.]
Thanks. I'll find berries.
Action
[Raven's not in the business of causing trouble for anyone. An Absol has nothing to fear from her, aside from a bit of mutual disaster.
She watches right back.]

Oh. A year consists of twelve months. Three months make a season. That's a long winter.]
I'll think about it.
Re: [video]
[Cause nothing comes for free, a sad truth that even the optimistic Miguel sticks with.]
